Masters' Degree in psychology with emphasis on Licensed Professional Counselor track was granted by Regis University, Denver Colorado in 1997. This degree focused on providing the clinical coursework for taking the national counselor examination for licensure with the Arizona State Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Coursework included: Life Span Development, Theories of Personality, Abnormal Psychology, Theories of Counseling and Psychotherapy, Counseling and Clinical Techniques, Groups: Process and Counseling, Statistics, Research, Evaluation, Social and Multicultural Issues, Professional Orientation and Ethics, Appraisal: Testing and Measurement, DV Dynamics and the Batterer, Treatment for Domestic Violence Survivors, Career Counseling and Development. There was also a 1 year practicum and internship at a local community guidance clinic. Prior to being licensed in the state of Arizona by the Board of Behavioral Health Examiners there was a requirement of 2 years post graduate supervision under a licensed professional counselor.
